Denver – To stay put at #5 and STILL land Bradley Chubb, the best defensive player in the draft to pair with Von Miller….wow. Look, Denver won a Super Bowl with a fierce pass rush and a game-managing Peyton Manning at quarterback. Nobody thinks Case Keenum is going to light it up in Denver but give him a good defense and he can get it done like he nearly did a season ago in Minnesota.

New York Jets – When the Jets made the deal with Indianapolis a few weeks ago to move from #6 to #3 overall they had no idea they would have the opportunity to take Sam Darnold. Darnold is who the Jets have truly coveted and it seemed like at #3 they were going to have to decide between Josh Rosen, Josh Allen or Baker Mayfield.

Arizona Cardinals – Arizona has long ignored the quarterback position in the last few drafts. Here the Cardinals get what many agree to be the most pro ready quarterback right now in Josh Rosen. The Cardinals didn’t have to give up a lot to move up five spots in order to get him. In a division where the Cardinals will see Russell Wilson, Jimmy Garappolo and Jared Goff two times a piece, the Cards needed a long term solution at quarterback.

Ryan Shazier – To see Ryan Shazier walk on stage and make the Steelers selection in the first round was the most memorable and feel good moment from the first round. Shazier has not closed the door on his football career but his health is what is paramount at this moment. Terrell Edmunds will likely be converted to playing linebacker so he not only made the pick but it could be seen as a changing of the guard, announcing the player that will ultimately take his place.

Lamar Jackson to Close Day 1

Big trade as the Ravens move up to get Lamar Jackson while the Eagles get a 2nd rounder in 2019….good deal for both teams.

Rashaad Penny

A little early and a bit of as surprise but this does fill a position of need.

Vander Esch and Martavis Bryant

Vander Esch might be a great pick for Dallas if he can show consistency. Great trade for Oakland getting Martavis Bryant for a 3rd rounder.
